This newly developed company was looking to dominate the cannabis industry and they needed us to design revolutionary packaging for their 3 strains of hemp flower. They wanted something that would stand out to customers and would harp on the classiness of the brand.

Catskill Hemp Co came to us with a business plan for a high-quality hemp product with edge and class. This newly developed company was looking to dominate the cannabis industry and they needed us to design revolutionary packaging for their 3 strains of hemp flower. They wanted something that would stand out to customers and would harp on the classiness of the brand.
Here’s What We Did:
During the initial stages of discussing packaging options with Catskill Hemp Co we found that the biggest challenge we would face was the ever-changing guidelines and laws for hemp packaging in the state of New York. Being that Catskill Hemp Co was established in NY and their whole pitch was to offer NY local products to consumers, there was no way around NY hemp laws. So our team got to work on researching the latest packaging laws and future bills that could possibly change the current laws so we could be prepared.
The vision for Catskill Hemp Co was simple, they had a superior product that needed a sophisticated “top-shelf” look. We weren’t new to this particular industry, as we’ve worked with hemp product and packaging design in the past. Our talented marketing team, headed by the senior packaging designer got hard to work in developing a packaging line and marketing plan that would lure in the targeted consumer market and make them loyal customers for life.
In order to bring Catskill Hemp Co’s strong business vision to life, we built out a comprehensive marketing plan that included packaging design, custom website development, and a strong launch and post-launch plan. Catskill Hemp Co products were going to be available for consumer and wholesale purchase, so we got to work on building out sales material as well.
Catskill Hemp Co is an honest brand with a quality product and a vision to shatter expectations, so that’s exactly what we set out to do with their logo. A unique design with old-fashioned design elements provided a sense of honesty while the silver and gold foil overlay gave it a modern and classy look.

After hours of research and several samples, we decided on glass jars with a clear label and natural wood lid. We wanted something modern and clean that would draw attention and instill curiosity.
Catskill Hemp Co’s hemp flower blew up so fast that not even 4 months after launch they were already looking to expand their product offerings and needed more packaging. They turned to us to design their Delta-8 cartridge and disposable vape packaging and are looking to expand even more into the Delta-8 dab category in the near future. We are so excited to continue working with this incredible company!

While our package designer was hard at work with Catskill Hemp Co’s product look, our web and graphic designers were busy building a website layout. The website needed to be informative and show off detailed images of Catskill Hemp Co’s quality products. An informative homepage was built along with several inner pages to showcase each line of products they offer.
All legal boxes were checked. We built a PDF uploader for COAs of products, included several legal disclaimers, and implemented an age-verification to access the site.
Facebook. Instagram. Reddit.
Market research revealed that these would be the top social marketing platforms the target audience would be more likely to engage on. We planned out a posting schedule, generated content, and built out campaigns.
The platform we saw the most results in was Instagram. Millennials are the most frequent customer and are the most active on this channel. We worked with Catskill Hemp Co to build-out review responses and put together a database of common questions and feedback. Reddit also proved to be successful. Customers took matters into their own hands and became ambassadors for Catskill Hemp Co in a few different sub-groups for hemp, Delta-8, and CBD.

Within the first 3 months after launch, Catskill Hemp Co sold out of their first batch of hemp flower. After 6 months we were already working on packaging for 3 more product lines. Almost a year later and Catskill Hemp Co is being sold all across the country, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico! Now, a little over a year later and we’re back at it redesigning product packaging due to new regulations. A soon-to-come brand new brand look is underway and we can’t wait to share it with you!
