CBD Source is a CBD and wellness center with over 60 locations in NY and PA. They came to us looking for some insights and help to manage a solid marketing plan that would help them reach a new customer base and increase the availability of their products nationwide. Essentially, what CBD Source needed was an e-commerce platform that integrated with their existing Warehouse software. Luckily, they came to the right place!
Here’s What We Did:
CBD Source is a CBD and wellness center with over 60 locations in NY and PA. They came to us looking for some insights and help to manage a solid marketing plan that would help them reach a new customer base and increase the availability of their products nationwide. Essentially, what CBD Source needed was an e-commerce platform that integrated with their existing Warehouse software. Luckily, they came to the right place!
Here’s What We Did:
As with all age-restricted items came a long list of rules and regulations for selling CBD and hemp products online. Our dedicated research and legal teams were able to break down what we needed to do in order to make this process as smooth as possible for CBD Source. Another big challenge was the already flooded CBD market. There were already hundreds of online websites where consumers could purchase CBD products. Lucky CBD Source had several bragging points that we could use to emphasize their brand and make them stand out from the competition.
A site audit and company exploration revealed that their current website provider would not have supported the ability to be transformed into an e-commerce platform and integrate with their warehouse software. We determined that Magento would be the best platform to build CBD Source’s new e-commerce website and so we got started! CBD Source had an already loyal customer base surrounding their brick & mortar locations, so we knew the loyalty would stick whether they purchased online or in one of the CBD Source locations.
We initiated a comprehensive site redesign with strong pre and post-launch marketing campaigns to hype up their new Ecommerce platform. The redesign would not only include a complete facelift but will also transform the old site into a fully-responsive online store. This overhaul would allow CBD Source to reach a larger target market and spread their brand name to many new groups of people interested in CBD products. It would enable consumers to quickly find the products they were looking for through informational blogs, site-wide search capabilities with elaborate product tags, mobile-friendly menus, and easy checkout.

Building email campaigns for CBD Source was nothing less than fun. It was a learning experience for the whole team, as some of us hadn’t heard of the long list of benefits CBD products had. After some market research, it became clear that there were still a lot of lingering questions about CBD products and what they could be used for. We set them up with a SharpSpring account that would allow us to automate their email campaigns and give CBD Source better insight into their customer base with detailed reports.
The first set of email campaigns were informative, giving their audience all the answers to their questions about CBD and incentivizing them to make a purchase.

CBD Source not only needed a website makeover, but an online store to help them reach a larger customer base. Their current website host wouldn’t have allowed for the integration into their warehouse software. We got to work on designing their new website on the Magento platform, which allowed us to create a custom-developed integration that would give them the ability to pull inventory information from their warehouse platform to Magento. This integration cut back on hours of manual product entry costs, and even allowed for seamless notifications alerting warehouse staff that a new sale was made, paving way for faster picking and faster delivery.

Most of CBD Source’s engagement came from Instagram, so we really wanted to focus on optimizing the social content for this platform while still making regular posts on Facebook. We started interacting more with customers, giving them more ways to engage with the brand really helped put CBD Source on a pedestal. The use of Instagram Stories provided an opportunity to involve store personnel, who regularly send in location-specific content to be posted.
Google My Business is a really important marketing platform that a lot of businesses tend to overlook. We helped CBD Source create all of the Google Business listings for their stores and talked through a marketing plan for this platform that is directed more towards in-store promotions and new product announcements.

CBD Source now has a beautiful, user-friendly e-commerce website with custom integrations and a mobile-responsive design. We kept some of their previous website’s design to make sure it was still familiar to their current customer base. The transition from their old website host to Magento was seamless, ensuring that there was no downtime in usability. CBD Source was able to successfully announce its e-commerce site with a targeted social media and email marketing campaign. CBD Source is now able to connect with consumers more efficiently. Together, the e-commerce platform and its expanded consumer market drove a dramatic sales growth for CBD Source.
