Munchies is a 2-store chain of dine-in & take-out comfort food that specializes in homemade fried chicken and location-specific meals. They pride themselves in bringing momma’s home-cookin’ to the entire community they serve. Munchies first contacted us looking for a logo, website, and delivery van graphics wrap. Fast forward to a couple of years later and they were looking to open their second location in Albany, NY. We worked on a launch plan and determined the best way to let locals know about the new business. We had a lot of fun working with the folks at Munchies, the fried chicken lunches were always a bonus!

Here’s What We Did:
Munchies restaurants are located in Albany and Auburn New York. Having two locations with two different menus was going to be challenging. We needed to make sure customers knew what menu items they could find at each location to avoid any confusion with new items and/or pricing changes. When it came time to launch their second location, it was 6 months after the Coronavirus popped into the US. Thankfully, we were able to utilize these 6 months to prepare a solid grand opening marketing plan!
Munchies founders and the executive suite had an overall large amount of combined knowledge of launching and running a restaurant. We took polls and surveys from community members to find out what foods they were interested in having in the area, what type of restaurants were lacking in that area, and what they liked and disliked about other local restaurants/chains. Munchies is also home to Krispy Krunchy Chicken products, a well-known fried chicken chain known in 47 states!
With all of the data we collected from market research, consumer surveys, and competitive research we were able to put together a solid marketing plan for Munchies to launch their first and second location. They needed a logo that was fun and symbolized their plan to offer fast [homecooked] food. Their website needed to be mobile-friendly and make it obvious to website visitors that there were two different locations. We even gave the ability to browse the locations right on loading to eliminate any confusion.
The Munchies logo needed to be somewhat familiar, but still stand out among other local competitors. Munchies had the vision to offer fast food without sacrificing the taste that homecooked meals offer. We needed to create a logo that stood for convenience, but also made a statement. We went with red and yellow because well, fast food. The two yellow lines are meant to signify the road, giving the illusion that Munchies has easily accessible locations.
Functional. Branded. Modern.
Both of the Munchies restaurant locations are a great reminder of what your local diner used to look like, but with a modern twist. They needed an easy way to swap out menu items, switch up daily specials, and remove items that may be sold out for the remainder of the day. We suggested digital menu boards, like what you’d see in your typical fast-food joint. Of course, we also laid out some options for printed menus to make eat-in dining an easier experience.
A few months after opening, Munchies was receiving a lot of requests for delivery. They wanted a custom vehicle wrap for their delivery van. This was one of the most fun projects we’ve worked on and the wrap came out great!

Munchies is all about convenience for the customer, so we knew that their website needed to be an exact reflection of this mission. We built them a custom-developed website that was easy to navigate and is mobile-friendly. They wanted their customers to have a centralized place to view their menus, find a location, browse deals, and learn about the business.
Munchies is celebrating the 5 year anniversary of their first location this year (2021) and this August they will be celebrating the 1-year anniversary of their second location. Opening their second location during the pandemic was not easy, but with their strong leadership and with help from our marketing team, they were able to have a successful launch in Albany NY! Over the past year, they’ve added new menu items and continued to adapt to the local community’s requests and feedback thanks to our ongoing consumer surveys and social listening. They are even looking to expand even more with the addition of their Partnership program! We are so excited to continue working with this incredible company!
"Marketing is enthusiasm transferred to the customer."
